Visiting EPCOT in the Rain: What to Pack and Which Plans to Change

Visiting Disney World on a sunny day is magical, but the truth is Central Florida rainstorms are inevitable. When you see a storm alert come across your weather app on the morning of your EPCOT day, it’s easy to worry. Think about it, EPCOT is the park of big outdoor walking loops, wide-open plazas in World Showcase, and open-air pavilions. A rainy day at EPCOT doesn't have to ruin your entire vacation. With the right gear and a flexible strategy, a rainy EPCOT day will most likely result in lower crowd levels and shorter wait times. Here is your guide for visiting EPCOT in the rain.

 EPCOT Rain Packing List : When it comes to Disney in the rain, preparation is everything. If you arrive unprepared, you will be stuck trying to decide if you want to but expensive gear in the park. Instead buy everything in advance. 

1. No Umbrellas, it's useless (Opt for a Rain Jacket or Poncho) While umbrellas seem logical, they are hassle at Epcot. They offer no protection if the wind picks up. A lightweight waterproof rain jacket or a heavy-duty reusable poncho will do the job. 2. Waterproof Footwear, you don't want Soggy socks in Disney World. When your feet get wet, your day can go downhill fast. Leave the canvas sneakers at the hotel. Instead, wear quick-drying athletic shoes, waterproof hiking trail shoes, or supportive sports sandals.Pack a second pair of shoes and fresh socks in your bag.

3. Electronics Protection:

Keep your tech safe by packing a waterproof phone pouch (or Ziploc bags). A portable phone charger in a waterproof sleeve.

•• Change This: Rushing to Leave the Park is a big mistake, when it rains at EPCOT and  heading for the monorail or bus loop also is a poor decision. Florida afternoon showers are intense, but they often blow over within 45 to 60 minutes.

• The Seas with Nemo & Friends:The pavilion houses a 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium. You can at least an hour watching manatees, dolphins, and sharks out of the rain.

•Journey Into Imagination with Figment. •Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Because the entire queue is indoors and air-conditioned. 

•Mission: SPACE: A fully indoor experience that will keep you dry. 

•Explore World Showcase Pavilions.The American Adventure: A patriotic stage show is inside a air-conditioned theater. •Impressions de France (or Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along): Located in the France pavilion.
